PayPal is an account-based system that lets anyone with an email address
securely send and receive online payments using their credit card or bank
account. Signing up for a PayPal account is completely free.
To be able to send money using PayPal you need to add your credit or debit card
to your account. When you receive payment the appropriate sum will be
automatically reflected in your account balance. You can do a lot of things with
the money in your PayPal balance:
- Use it to send payment to someone else
- Withdraw the money to your bank account
- Use PayPal virtual debit card to shop anywhere online
- Sign up for the PayPal Money Market Reserve Fund to earn a return on your
PayPal balance
- Request a PayPal ATM/Debit Card, and spend the money anywhere the MasterCard
or Cirrus logos are displayed, or withdraw the money from an ATM
The Paypal site has a growing list of e-commerce Web sites that accept Paypal
payments, including some charities. Paypal will even give you $5 for signing up
(if you complete bonus requirements).
